Behind the Name, Honda

Everyone knows that Honda is a brand name of wheels. Be it a motorcycle, a sedan up to SUV, the options of choosing best vehicle, Honda will always be included.

But, do we really know how it all started to have a Honda in our brain dictionary today? Soichiro Honda. It all started with Soichiro Honda. His willingness to help his father to their bicycle repair business when he was young that made him to lead to his destination today. At the age of 22, he began to put up a business same with his father but an auto repair business.

When he was 31, he found the producer of Toyota’s piston rings but a World War 2 in the year 1944, the plant for the producer of Toyota piston’s rings were destroyed and the Itawa plant as well. After the WWII, Honda sold the remains at Toyota that gave him the savings to Honda company. He worked hard in experimenting the techniques of casting a piston ring to the point where all his savings were spent for the experiments including the jewelry of his wife being pawned. After all the hardships, finally he became the world’s most successful entrepreneur of mechanical engineering since Henry Ford.

Now, even if he has died, his name hasn’t. That is the power of success, as he has said, “Many people dream of success.

To me, success can only be achieved through repeated failures and introspection. In fact, success represents 1 percent of your work which results only from 99 percent that is called failure.”
